Ireland Recalls Multiple Batches of Infant Formula
On January 5, 2026, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) issued Alert No. 2026.01. Nestlé has recalled specific batches of certain SMA series infant formulas and follow-on formulas due to possible contamination with cereulide, a toxin produced by Bacillus cereus. The recalled products include SMA Advanced Infant Milk, SMA Advanced Follow-On Milk, SMA Comfort, SMA First Infant Milk, SMA Gold Prem 2, SMA Little Steps First Infant Milk, and SMA Althera, among others. The products are sold in 800g, 200ml, and 400g packages.
